Step 3: Tear strips of newspaper into approximately 4 inch by 1 inch pieces.
Step 4: Dip each strip of newspaper into the flour and water mixture, making sure it is fully coated.
Step 5: Place the coated newspaper strips onto the balloon, layering them until the balloon is completely covered.
Step 6: Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have at least 3-4 layers of newspaper on the balloon.
Step 7: Allow the paper mache to dry completely (this may take a few hours to a full day).
Step 8: Once the paper mache is dry, pop the balloon inside.
Step 9: Trim the excess newspaper from the top of the bowl to form the rim.
Step 10: Optional: paint the bowl with your desired color and allow it to dry.
